Allowed had nothing to with it. Someone brought me a violin
for my inspection, and I duly inspected it, from a horizontal
position of course.

Yep. My point was that you perhaps should have satisfied our
expectations about your chauvinism and contributed a recipe
from the near-canonized Peter Lehmann or some such instead
of offering a retread American recipe that I originally posted
over a decade ago.

Outdated information. The record held for a strike thrown
in an official baseball game is just under 170 kph. Ryan's
162 was the fastest verified by an officially calibrated
radar machine during the 1970s. 

Also, it is entirely possible that an inaccurate throw may
have been faster than that.

Arizona's Supreme Citrus Pie

9 in baked deep dish pie crust, cooled
h - Fluffy filling
8 oz package cream cheese, softened
12 oz can sweetened condensed milk
6 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 pk (4-serving size) lemon-flavor
- instant pudding mix (not sugar free)
1 c whipping cream, whipped
h - Clear filling
1/2 c cornstarch
1/3 c water
4 egg yolks
1/2 c fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c water
1 Tb butter or margarine
h - Topping
1 c whipping cream
2 Tb confectioners' sugar
3/4 ts vanilla

Fluffy filling -
Combine cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk in large bowl.
Beat at low speed of electric mixer until smooth. Add lemonade
concentrate. Blend well. Beat in pudding mix until smooth. Fold in
whipped cream. Spoon into baked pie crust. Make shallow depression
in filling 1 inch inside of edge. Refrigerate.

Clear filling -
Combine cornstarch and 1/3 c water in small bowl. Stir to blend.
Combine egg yolks and lemon juice in medium bowl. Beat until
smooth. Combine granulated sugar and 1/2 c water in medium
saucepan. Cook on medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
Stir in cornstarch mixture slowly. Cook and stir until thickened
and clear. Remove from heat. Stir in egg yolk mixture slowly
until blended.

Return to heat. Cook and stir 1 to 2 min or until mixture comes
to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in butter until blended. Cool
completely. Spread gently over fluffy filling.

Topping -
Beat whipping cream in small bowl at high speed of electric mixer
until stiff peaks form. Beat in confectioners' sugar and vanilla.
Spread over clear filling. Refrigerate until firm.
