I did check the paper yesterday, and to my amazement all those dribs and
drabs and dustings added up to almost (but not quite) our normal for the
year... We're up to about 65 inches for the year...!  Normal is 66.5,
they said...   It just doesn't seem like that much when there's not been
more than a couple of inches or so on the ground at any one time.  And
during our January thaw, pretty much even the plowed piles melted off...
with the help of some rain, admittedly.  There was a little weather
article in yesterday's paper talking about y'all in the Mid-Atlantic
states... Appears Baltimore is way ahead of us... their over-normal
stats are more than our total snowfall to date...  He was suggesting
that perhaps they've earned the Golden Snowball award for this year. 
(It's for an semi-official snow derby between Buffalo, Rochester and
Syracuse NY, awarded for the one with the most snowfall.)  I know,
little consolation to Dale (and to my sister, living partway between
Annapolis and Maryland, although she might actually be enjoying it more
than Dale is...)
