=====================
Hi Michael,

ML> Are the marbles lost or just not quite as round as they
RH> I think it's a bit of both. Some are gone for good, others have just
RH> lost a bit of their roundness. Still enough to do decent on
RH> "Jeopardy", if I can get a chance to take the on line test.

ML> People have told me I should go on that show. Harh. I don't
ML> think I'd be able to find the button, much less articulate
 ML> an answer.

Especially because it's not as easy as it looks. What the home audience
doesn't see are lights around the board. You can't ring in until they
go out (probably after Alex finishes reading the clue). Then, the first
one to ring in locks out the other 2. It's a split second thing; then
you only have a few seconds (not sure how many, we had 8 in the try out
test) to answer the question.

RH> As it says on the bottle: "No pesticides, No chemicals, No
RH> herbicides, No added coloring Just Pure Organic Sugar Cane Molasses"
RH> The label also says it's "organic, fair trade & kosher certified, not
RH> filtered through animal by products and suitable for Vegan and Halal
RH> Diets. Loaded with minerals, Vitamin B6. Potassium, Calcium and Iron."

ML> Yeah, but the important thing is how does it taste?

Like molasses! (G) Nice and rich, full of goodness.

RH> coffee or Indian tea. We plan to make a return trip; it was GOOD! We
RH> saved over half the cost of the book in just that one meal--and it was
RH> well worth it. Took some naan home but cleaned up on everything else.
RH> One minor flaw was that there was just a bit too much cilantro in
 RH> things.

ML> Some consider that a flaw; others think it's a plus.
 ML> To me it's a flaw.

It's a flaw here, more so with Steve than for me. I'll take it up to a
point, then start picking it out if I can. We went to Qdoba's (a
Mexican chain, similar to Moe's Southwestern Grill or Chipotle's) on
Saturday night. Afterward, I told Steve that the word qdoba must be
Spanish for "cilantro in almost everything"; we found it to be that way.
Anyway, the food is better than Taco Bell, but not as many choices.
It's not as good as a Mexican restaurant, even on the scale of Chuey's,
which we liked in AZ. Still, it's worth going back to if we're in the
area (same area as Trader Joe's and Hancock Fabrics).

ML> Yesterday I took my brother out to dinner in return for his
ML> having taken me out! the previous night.

 ML> I needed to get a USB<->Ethernet connector as my laptop's
ML> Ethernet went kaput, so we went up on Rockville Pike to
ML> the Radio Shack, where I paid approximately $10 more than
ML> I would have at Tiger Direct for one of these things; but
ML> it was in hand immediately, which is good. Anyhow, that
ML> dictated that we were pointed north on the road, so we
ML> went north on the road. Passed Fuddrucker's and Hooters
ML> and various other places. Jonathan rejected these as too
ML> unhealthy; eventually we found a pollo a la brasa place
ML> called Inkas' Empire, run by and for Peruvians. When we
ML> arrived, everyone else in the joint was in fact Peruvian,
ML> including our waitress, who smiled a lot at me and was
 ML> totally adorable. Anyhow.

Sounds interesting; I've not encountered any Peruvian places before.

ML> I ordered fried yuca for starters, and Jonathan chimed in
ML> by asking for French fries, to my mild disapproval. These
ML> were very standard, the yuca being more than a buck better
ML> than the taters. Huge servings - we ate down the yuca but
ML> had to take the fries back. The usual South American white
ML> (mayo-ish) and green (ground Jalapenos with a little salt
ML> and/or vinegar) sauces came with - I used a fair amount of
ML> the green, and it was Hot.

I'd have gone for the yucca too (not yucca dew, remember that?); the
idea of fries for a starter, or even with the entree give me the
shudders. BTW, Qdoba's has several (6 or 7 I think) salsas to choose
from; the salsa verde was a nice tingly medium hot. Steve had the hot
but not habenero hot; we both had good sized grilled chicken burritos,
more on the size of burros actually.

ML> My brother's main was a roast half chicken with rice and
ML> beans; standard. I ordered tacu tacu, an enormous plate,
ML> maybe a pound and half, of rice and beans (precooked of
ML> course) mixed together, seasoned with garlic, and then
ML> pan-fried in some kind of extra-tasty fat. On the side,
ML> a half pound or more of beef strips stewed with onions
ML> and peppers. We'll be coming back here - under $30
ML> including a beer and a Coke. Anyhow, the imperfection
ML> of this dish was in fact the copious amount of cilantro
ML> that was both cooked into and strewn over the stew. I
ML> picked out as much as I could, and there was still a
ML> bit much. Next time, I'll say "sin cilantro," and I
ML> suggest Steve do the same.

I'd have to see what other choices were available but both of those
sound good, except for the cilantro.

ML> Title: Catfish Curry with Tomato and Cilantro
 ML> Categories: Burmese, Fish, Curry
 ML> Yield: 4 Servings

Double NO on this one; we don't eat catfish and the cilantro is a big
no-go here.
