Tried some about 25 years ago when we were stationed at Fort Hood,TX.
It had too strong of a "fishy" taste to it, just not one we liked.
(Probably spoiled on the nice flounder we've had in NC>)

I don't recall having had either of them.  The last fish we had was the
tilapia on our trip to Israel.  Most of the time we go for seafood
(shrimp, scallops, oysters) instead of fish unless we know we can get
flounder.  Personal taste preference.

Ever try shad? That's another boney one.  My parents were given some
when us kids were small; mom said she was really careful to pick out all
the bones before giving it to us.  My parents never bought fish but had
that, and from time to time, trout given to them.

It's not a regular menu item; you're more likely to find it if you go to
dinner at the home of Jewish friends.  Alternately, I've seen it in the
store; you could buy some & ask Shirley to fix it for you.
