The hats are felted.  They last well.

In the TV movies the US farmers' caps usually say, "Caterpillar" or
"Deere".   The sun in USA is generally much kinder than the harsh,
UV-intense Australian sun, so the baseball caps are adequate.  These
days Australian school children have to wear protective hats as part
of their school uniforms when outside to reduce the incidence of later
skin cancers.  (I have just had my annual treatment, with incipient
cancers burnt off with liquid nitrogen.  Last year I had to have some
cut out.)

It is the drone wind instrument.  The main supporting percussion
instrument is the tabla.  And Ravi is very proud of her, and what she
is doing for the art of sitar playing.

      Title: Okra with Mustard Seeds
 Categories: Side dish, Indian, Bengali, Vegetables
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      1 lb Fresh okra
      1 tb Black mustard seeds
      1 ts Yellow mustard seeds
    1/2 ts Turmeric
    1/2 ts Cayenne
      1 ts Salt
      3 tb Oil
    1/8 ts Nigella seed*
      2 ea Fresh hot chiles
 
  *Nigella seeds = black onion seeds.
  
  Wash okra & pat it dry.  Cut off the very tips of the pods & peel the
  cone shaped top.
  
  Grind the mustard seeds & put into a bowl.  Add turmeric, cayenne,
  salt & 1/2 c water.  Stir into a paste, adding a little more water if
  necessary.
  
  Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  When hot, add nigella
  seeds & 10 seconds later add okra.  Stir fry for 10 minutes.  Add
  spice paste & chiles.  Bring to a simmer.  Cover, lower heat & simmer
  gently for 5 to 8 minutes or until the okra is tender.
