Sometimes it's like that with life.  Steve was more predictable day to
day to day with his job routine overall.  Now "normal" changes each
semester. (G)  He's home more than he's "at work" (school) during
the day instead of the other way around.  I'm still adjusting to it and
he's been retired almost a year.

No, but the hard part will be making sure they do let go of them.  Some
things shouldn't be hard to dispose of but the Hefty/Zip Lock containers
have a tendency to get reused until they're dead. Yes, I do it to a
certain point too, but only for food use if they were used for food
before.  We'll find out how well they heeded our suggestion when we come
up again for their anniversary celebration this summer.

Thanks; we're dealing with one parent who was born in 1922. the other in
1929.  The Depression and WWII "use it up, wear it out, save and reuse
again" (and again and again and again) mentality is hard to go against.
Mom has severe arthritis in her shoulders--can't hardly lift her arms
above chest height.  I suggested to Dad that they buy milk in half
gallon jugs instead of gallon; he first said that it would mean twice as
many trips out.  So, I suggested they buy 2 half gallons and he said
that he didn't feel right spending the money to do that.  They are not
living at poverty level; I asked him if he'd seen how much it hurts Mom
to lift a gallon jug and how much easier lifting a half gallon jug would
be.  We'll see what comes of that suggestion.
