They were. And quite tasty. Budget busters, though, for a restaurant unless
they charged HUGE prices for them.

Well, yeah. Employee expense, physical plant, taxes, etc. Which is why dollar a
dozen eggs, $2.50/lb bacon and 89c/lb potatoes will set you back five bucks or
more for two eggs, three strips of bacon and half a pound of spuds ... in a
restaurant.
 
I used to have a place here that had a shrimp burger - basically a 4 oz shrimp
cake breaded and deep fried, served on a bun. Hmmmmmmmm, haven't seen them on
offer for a while. 

Note to self: find some, see if they are as good as you remember.   Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Shrimp Burgers
 Categories: Seafood, Sandwiches, Cheese, Breads, Citrus
      Yield: 4 servings

      4    Hamburger buns; split,
           - buttered
      1 c  Mayonnaise
      3 tb Chopped green pepper
      1 tb Chopped onion
      1 tb Worcestershire sauce
      1 ts Dry mustard
      1 tb Lemon juice
      4 oz Shredded mild Cheddar cheese
      9 oz (2 cn) shrimp; drained,
           - rinsed

  These shrimp burgers are made with canned shrimp, cheese,
  mayonnaise, and chopped green pepper and onion.

  Open buns. Toss together mayonnaise, green pepper, onion,
  Worcestershire, mustard, lemon juice, cheese, and shrimp;
  spoon on buns. Broil 6 inches from heat for 5 minutes or
  until cheese melts and bubbles.

  Makes 4 servings.
