Liked Yma Sumac much, much better.

Judy Collins was/is very nice - both to look at and to listen to. Probably my
favourite Judy cut is her 1970 acapella take on Amazing Grace. I was friends
with a Methodist minister despite not being a "believer" and we saw one another
fairly frequently. One day he was in the shop and I mentioned that Amazing
Grace would likely make a pretty good hymn. After he finished cracking up and
could talk again without going off into another fit of laughter, Tom said, "If
you knew how many wanna-be evangelists have hit the sawdust trail because of
that song ... "

At which point I realised that I had trod my wedding tackle whilst wearing the
golf spikes - again. It had not been, AFAIK, in the Episcopal hymnal - at least
never sung in any of the services I had attended. And the English Catholic
bunch were the only church I attended with any regularity.
 
Another of my favourites was Anne Murray - who has a very sweet, golden alto
voice. I dunno if she has ever recorded with fellow Canuckian Gordon Lightfoot
- but, that would be a very good thing.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Episcopal Green Beans
 Categories: Five, Vegetables, Beans
      Yield: 7 servings

     32 oz (2 cans) green beans
           Garlic salt
    1/2 c  Butter; melted
      2 tb Prepared (yellow) mustard
      2 tb Worcestershire sauce

  Drain half the liquid from beans.

  Place beans and remaining liquid in a saucepan.

  Season generously with garlic salt, cook on medium heat
  about 20 minutes.

  Drain.

  Combine butter, mustard and Worcestershire and add to beans.

  Marinate 6-12 hours.
  
  Warm before serving.

  Serves 6 -8
