Good idea.. it's the only thing I found that helps..

And Mom was on it for a while.. She fell over backwards when she was taking
that drug.. it was a nasty fall. She's still in pain from that fall too.. she
had a compression fracture that no one seems to be able to help.

All of the drugs for spastic muscles in the legs do that to me. It's quite
irritating.. The first day or so is great, then the weakness sets in. Topamax
was the worst of them though, since it took forever to get over that side
effect.. and I'm not sure that I'm over it now since my right leg is still such
a mess. Made you stupid as well (laugh).

STILL waiting to hear from my ins. company about ampyra.. the dogs.

Yeah, you have to be careful with that. A good number of my spills are at
night since I can't keep my balance in the dark.. The therapist is working on
that as well.. was a trip the first time we started working on excercises for
that one :) I can now stand with my eyes closed in one position for 30 seconds
(g).. Don't know if it will be possible to ever have it "all" back, i.e., walk
at night completely in the dark.. but who knows. I'll give it a shot anyway.

I can understand that one :(

Actually drug addicts from what I understand.. they take it in very high doses,
like 300+ mg. This treatment, studied by Dr. Bihari (he just died day before
yesterday :( ) is only 3.5 mg... hence the name, Low-Dose Natrexone. It's a
minimal amount of the drug that works at night while sleep when your body
normally creates endorphins, and increases them. There are a number of studies
being done now, I think the only one that's been completed at this point
showing effectiveness though was for Crohn's disease.. and that study was done
because of Dr. Bihari's work with LDN for MS. He's since advised that anyone
with any immune system disorder take it. The ldn site at lowdosenaltrexone.org
has all the info. A lot of people who take Copaxone take it.

My doc in Manhatten wanted to start me on betaseron when it first came out. I
said no thanks.. Not enough info was around at the time to make me feel like it
would be a safe thing to do. Then he started harping on me about Avonex..
refused that one as well. Just didn't see the point for how it was going to
change the way I lived (or wanted to (g)). I know how many allergies exist in
my family.

I do like soy sauce and soy bean products used in chinese cooking :)

Easiest sometimes as well :) Tonight we're going to probably have leftover
sauce and meatballs.

Take care,
Janis
