Hi Janis,

JK> > I like a nice in between. Overall, I can't say cold is better than
JK> hot > or vice versa for me but it's generally easier to keep the house
JK> cool > than to get it warm.

JK> Once the house warms up in the spring, it's not hard here to keep it
JK> warm. Still we figure to replace a lot of the siding and put in more
JK> insulation this summer when Ron paints the house. Alex is supposed to
JK> come and stay for some of the summer to help him with that.

That'll be nice. The siding on this house is in poor shape; we
mentioned it when we first moved in to the guy the rental agency sent to
do some other repairs. He never got back to us on some he'd said needed
doing & he'd schedule. But, the house isn't falling down around us.

>> > They do my lungs in as well.

JK> And I bet the humidity is worse when its warm as well.. that can't be
JK> good for your lungs :(

No, so I stay inside, with air conditioning as much as I can.

>> hot air. She and her family can use some prayers right now. I'll
>> netmail you.

JK> > Got it, wrote back. I'm a bit late on reading the past few days,
JK> trying > to study for a final exam, among other things.

JK> Understand, and know that your exams have to take precidence. Waiting
JK> for the reply here, but it's probably on it's way.

The exam is over. I think I did OK on it, don't know if I kept my A in
the class tho.

 JK> like their
JK> > Quicken is a goner but not much on it tho. Dad is the computer
JK> user; > mom is afaid of the thing.

JK> I think that was mom's reason for refusing to touch the thing (g)

But my dad says that Mom used to do a fair amount of basic work on it
when they started a business 25 years ago. As she's aged, she's lost
confidence in herself to even turn it on, find the previous week's
letter, delete it and start a new one.

>> until things are straightened around. I'm waiting to hear back from
>> her.. I should hear something on Monday I hope.

JK> > Hopefully all went well.

JK> No word yet that the insurance company is giving in, but I can't
 JK> imagine they will not..

Bean counters!

JK> > that couldn't be reasoned out yet. Part of it was changing coverage
JK> > zones (different policy administrators) coupled with retirement. As
 JK> in, > OK, Tricare South covered this while Steve was on active duty;
JK> why won't > Tricare North do the same now that he's retired? It all
 JK> worked out tho.

JK> Yes, this thing with Aetna is totally ridiculous.. requiring me to
JK> take a medicine that I don't need to get another :) And one that
JK> costs 3X as much as the one my doctor wants me to take :)

Something doesn't add up right here.

>> old shoes and boy did they rip them up. So much for not much in the
>> way of Lab. Retriever genes.. they decimated those shoes (g). They
>> were under a dresser, way in the back.. not so hidden I guess (laugh)

JK> > Not for a couple of puppies who wanted something to chew on. In
JK> that > case, any thing is fair game, even if it's (in your eyes) well
JK> hidden. > Puppies have radar for things like that; Rachel's Molly did,
 JK> she said.

JK> They are funny in the things they "find" :)

Yes, and they always find & chew up just what you don't want them to.
But, leave out a pair of shoes you don't care about and they get
ignored.

>> She hasn't mentioned needing any other drugs at this point. They

 JK> > I just had a lumpectomy--worked out a lot better.

JK> Same for her. She's doing pretty well now, and I'm hoping the puppies
JK> will be a bit older by the time she gets here.. Last year she came at
 JK> the end of June.

They'll give her enough to laugh about and take her mind off other
things. Is it settled then that she's coming?

JK> >Try to get your mom
JK> > up for the summer--tell her nobody stays in Florida for the summer.
 JK> (G)

 JK> Yes, indeed :)

My in laws are planning on leaving around the first week of June, then
return in August. Each year the time they spend in NY decreases.

 JK> > She won't be a-peeling--like a banana?

 JK> She's peeling - but not so drastically I guess :)

I had some, plus some "sun burn" areas.

>> had several tatoo points so I can imagine my mom did as well.

 JK> > I had 3 put on; I think that's the basic norm.

JK> Same with her I think, but I'd have to ask.

They're just tiny dots anyway.

JK> > You don't need tatoos for MRIs.

JK> hehe.. no, you don't. But you _don't_ want to have an MRI if you have
JK> tatoos from what I've read. No permanent problems, but some swelling
 JK> I think, etc.

The size of the ones you get for radiation wouldn't even be affected.

>> with > the idea of more surgery, followed by radiation but went ahead
>> & took > care of it before I had too much time to stew on it.

>> I an understand that one. Kind of.. I mean, I've never had to worry
>> about quite that kind of thing (cancer), but I've lived through
>> watching my Dad have it (lung cancer), and my Mom. You rationalize so
