Ok, Saturday was main picnic day.  

Food *everywhere* as you can imagine!

There was no 'star player' as it was all so good, though very different in
ethnics as you can imagine.

More of the Pastrami came out (called it prosicutto for some odd reason). 
This was enjoyed with vaious mustards (browns, plain yellows etc) on rye
breads, portugese 'Hawaiian sweet' (sp?), or whole wheat.

Ruth had me making meatballs.  She'll probably post the base recipe but it
was ground beef and sausage (about 1.5 lb total, more beef than sausage), 1
egg (or was it 2?) 1 cup bread crumbs, then traditional italian seasonings
(home grown fresh).  This was kneaded up and a little more breadcrumb added
(possibly 1/3 cup or 1/4) oh and 1 tb olive oil and 2 tb water.  Pretty much
all done by eye.  Baked for 17 mins at 350 then dumped into the sauce.

The sauce was mostly tomatoes (sauce and paste) with some portion of water
and something like 3-5 garlic cloves.  Maybe some olive oil.  I was
distracted at that point and didnt catch the recipe.  Meatballs simmered at
lowest setting in this for 3-4 hours.  I'm told hiding in the fridge is a
small container of what was left.

Eggplant, large american sort but not bitter.  Peeled and then run though
flour, egg wash, and panko then fried a light golden.  These were good as
they were and we munched one up as is.  The rest were placed in 2 glass
plates with more of the tomato sauce (believe it was from the same batch,
again was distracted) and baked at 350 for a bit.  30 mins?

Same time at the back of the stove, Mloo made a whole duck into many parts. 
Poor thing, it hadnt been cleaned!  This then became a series of several
dishes.  There were 2 with duck bits (breast I think), one in a wine
reduction and the other in a cranberry reduction.  Some parts got tea smokes
in the smoker grill and later recrisped in a bit of duck fat.  Some went into
a crockpot of blackeye peas (wings I believe) and much was turned to a duck
broth we still havent had time to do anything with on Monday.  Some of these
were actually served Sunday.

Hopefully I captured the primary items.  Oh, blueberry dish!  There's 2
little squares of that in the fridge out of a whole pan.
