Hi Stephen,

IIRC, the Bosche has a more powerful motor than all of them.. but I could be
wrong. Wow, just checked, and the Viking is 1000W :) That's something :)

I know what you mean there :) Well that is the good thing in having the two
mixers here right now. They both use the accessories I originally bought for
my older KA. I don't need the next bread kneading mixer I get to do
"everything" as I've used my older KA - to make macaroni dough and macaroni,
stuff sausage, mill flour, mix cake batter or juice oranges. I can use the old
KA for those things if I want to or need to. All I need is a reliable mixer to
knead dough from flour that I mill here.

I have a feeling that these flours that we're using (that we've milled) could
be the cause of the wear on these mixers that don't have strong enough motors -
even though KA has even included recipes for it IIRC. I'll have to look at the
recipe book that came with the Professional.

>> Understand. My old Kitchenaid sounds like it growls at slower speeds,
>> but it does work well otherwise..

> Growling is one thing. Clunking is something entirely different. :(

Indeed. Doesn't give you much confidence in the mixer :( The day that my
Professional's bowl jumped out of the stand was quite a shock.. Being the klutz
I can be, I'm amazed I didn't get caught up in it :)

That's miserable. Especially for the $$ that KA charges for those mixers :(

> Yes, it is sad that a once-great brand has sunk to such levels.

I guess if all we used it for was angelfood cake we'd be ok (vbg)

> I don't
> think that it would sell for too much on the used market, not enough to

I've seen the Bosch advertised for around $300.00 - not the combo type (mixer,
blender, etc.).. just the bread dough mixer. If I can sell the Professional
for even $150.00, I'd be happy (grin). Someone who doesn't mill their own
flour would most likely have no problem with it.

Take care,
Janis
