I know; I don't think I've got any of them on any of my cook books.  I
usually set the cook book well aside whenever I'm using a knife.  Partly
because the counter next to the sink (where I usually do my cutting) is
so small.

He will, and he's looked at them as well.  This set up cost maybe 1/10
of a long arm and our space will accomodate it.  It's one I can set up
and take down as needed vs the more permanent set up of a long arm.

Ours isn't much bigger.  I can turn from the stove and put something
into the sink.

I've seen some places (on HGTV) that have a double hot plate for a
stove, no oven.

Way too small for me.  These places supposedly had resident input on the
design but evidentally, not from serious cooks.

For sure! I want a good sized one with lots of storage space, work space
and space just to feel comfortable in.  I've had too many kitchens where
I've not had one or another that I've got some definate opinions of what
I want.  If we build, I can get it, if we buy, we will either look for a
decent kitchen or one with remodeling potential.
