Oh, 3 hours to wait to see a doctor is bad.. :( But I'm glad for you that you
won't have to keep going back there :)

Interesting.. we bought our C64 in 1982. Shortly after I wrote a version of
what was called "the String Game" in the kids' school Math program for the C64
in the Commodore's C language :) The game was based on Venn Diagrams, set
theory and various math sets (like multiples of 4, positive divisors of 12, odd
numbers, etc. etc.). I created 3 interecting colored circles, and had the
computer assign one of 15 sets to each of the circles. The kids had to figure
out which set was in each circle by testing numbers in each of intersecting
sections (so for instance if there was a 4 in area ABC, then circle A, or B, or
C could not contain the set of odd numbers, etc.).

The neat thing recently was, I received an email about two weeks ago from
University of Buffalo asking me if I'd consider writing a new version of that
program for "today's" computers, because they are trying to get the CEMREL Math
program going again (that was the name of the program that used games like the
String Game). I was really shocked when I heard from these people at
Univiversity of Buffalo.. it seems that the people at CEMREL talked about my
program, and so that's why this fellow had contacted me.. he had worked for
CEMREL at the time I guess. I'd written a version much later for the PC in
about 1985 maybe 89.. can't remember now.. but that one wasn't as nice as the
C64 version because the C64 was so nice to program (g). Anyway, I told him I'd
get to work on a version in Java for them.. I think they're planning on using
it in the home-schooling community which I think is great :)

Yes, there were plenty of those.. It was neat typing them in way back :) I
remember teaching my kids to program and how much fun they had with that too..
it was great.

I don't think we do that either :) Well I don't think I do (grin). I usually
have coffee in the morning (how much depends on how wiped out I am (g)) and
then I drink tea normally during the day.. easier on my guts :)

Well, the next step is going to be the refrigerator frame in the center-island
so Ron will do that first.. then he'll do the frame for the dish-washer..
Work's been hectic for him lately so we'll see.. he'll get it done eventually
:) I'm in no rush (g).

That's really handy for sure! I was debating something like that for my sewing
room.. there are two rooms I could use for it.. one is right off the kitchen
and perfect for that (watching over dinner)... or for what it was intended
haha.. a dining room (g).. The other room isn't that far, but it's down the
hall from the kitchen, not within 'the view'.. but I'll probably leave it as
is, with the dining room off the kitchen.. if I get into some large project
that is going to take a lot of time, then I might switch the rooms around I
guess.. then it would make sense I think. But that is really nice that you'll
be able to see the kitchen from where you'll be quilting :)

Take care,
Janis
