============================
Hi Ruth!

Boy the more time goes by, the further behind I get with stuff it seems (grin)
Well, I'm trying to play catch-up today.. then I want to get outside and plant
some early peas :)

>> I'll get it online when I finish the java version.. should be cool

> And then Steve will see it, maybe beta test?

Hehe :) Sure, no problem.. once I get it going.. I'll let you know when I have
something worth testing going.. shouldn't be too long.. I've got some code
started, but darn life keeps getting in the way. Some of it enjoyable stuff,
some of it just running around taking care of odds and ends :)

>>> The neat thing recently was, I received an email about two weeks ago
>>> from University of Buffalo asking me if I'd consider writing a new

It would be possible to do that if I wrote a version that used shapes and
figures in the sets rather that sets of numbers..other than that, I think both
the String Game and MiniComputers (that's the other game they want me to
update) would be too involved for a 4 year old.. because they are dealing with
basic math that he wouldn't have been exposed to yet (like Multiples of 4, or
Prime Numbers, or Positive Divisors of 18 (grin).. but he could learn set
theory and logic by playing the string game with shapes ... guessing which set
of shapes was assigned to each circle.. by testing for a shape in various
sections of the intersecting circles ... anyhow, I'll get back to you on this
:) :)

>>> Yes, there were plenty of those.. It was neat typing them in way back

Sorry to hear about your left hand.. do you have Carpal Tunnel? I understand
that can be very very painful. I never had time to take a typing course in
High School.. I remember some funny things though that drove my guidance
counselor a little buggy... I dropped chemistry and took Oil Painting one year
and it was so neat :) I figured, I can take chemistry later (and I did).. I
did take a couple of years of Latin on top of my 4 years of french as well, so
I guess I would have had time for a typing course if I wasn't taking other
things I liked better (grin).

>>> usually have coffee in the morning (how much depends on how wiped out
>>> I am (g)) and then I drink tea normally during the day.. easier on my

>> When we drink coffee, we like it strong.. and the same with our tea ..

> I'd just as soon skip the coffee; tea, I'm drinking stronger than I used
> to. But it has to be sweet, no 2 ways about that point for me.

I think we stopped putting sugar in our coffee about 25 years ago ... just 2%
milk is all we put in our coffee.. We were still using Honey in our tea until
recently though.. and even now we use it on occasion.. but not that often.
Most times we drink our tea straight (grin).

>> We like trying all kinds of teas though :) We really like Numi's
>> Chinese Breakfast Tea.. it's like a really good "lipton"..

> That's a new one for me--is it a basic black tea? We prefer Tetly to
> Lipton; it's less bitter.

It's basic black tea, yes.. very flavorful.. it's really good.

>> Yes, things will be in full swing :) We also decided to put the fridge
>> behind me across from the center-island instead of in the island.
>> Will be easier to grab things out of it I think :)

> Better to think of that now than later, after he gets it put in the
> island. (G)

Oh yeah, tell me about it :) Things are moving though :) We ordered the
Exhaust Hood for the Island.. that should be here in about a week or so.. (it's
shipping from California) It's one that is made in Italy, it looks really
nice.. Digital displays, up to 6 speed settings.. We ordered a ductless kit for
it as well that is supposed to let us use it without requiring it to be vented
outside.. Hope that works as advertised (grin).

Take care,
Janis
