Mine was built in 1960.  The counter space isn't that bad, but it's not

That sounds like a chem lab layout, with electrical outlets subbing for gas
lines for the bunsen burners.  I could go with that.  Chem lab countertops
wouldn't be a bad idea either; they're impervious to darned near
everything.

Bobby could have made lunch out of a coyote, if he were of a mind to eat
one.  I've never had an indoor cat who didn't make herself an indoor cat.  
THey all have the option to go out.

There is that, but it involves heavy machinery.  Some of us aren't safe
around heavy equipment outside...or that's the story we're sticking to
anyway.
