Hehe.. yeah, and now they they think the tonsils do have  a purpose in antibody
production... I remember being so happy to get ice cream in the hospital after
mine came out, but I also remember putting up quite a fight over the needles 
:) :)  IIRC, two nurses had to hold me down (laugh). I was a little feisty I
guess (grin)

Also, I remember it was funny..  that "not knowing the purpose" was true of the
mitochondria in human cells.. I remember learning in Human Biology (In my
family, we all took medical sciences in College, though only one of us ended up
in Medical School) that the mitochondria had NO purpose .. they really thought
the mitochondria did nothing then.. later research discovered that the
mitochondria, this little organelle in the human cell, is the power house of
the cells.. Quite a difference from what was taught back then :)

Oof.. That's scarey when it happens to a kid.. for a mom at least.. I'd bet as
a kid at the time you were probably a little frightened as well (g). So it's a
good thing you just put that right out of your mind :) :)

Ron's appendix burst as well  but he was a little older.. I think 8.. Mine was
taken out when I was about 28 or so, and not busting :) Matter of fact it was
quite healthy, but they took it out anyway :) They weren't sure what was wrong
with me so I guess they figured when in doubt, take out the appendix (grin)..
the pain did go away though so that was something (g).  Matter of fact, it was
that same ol' country doc who made the joke about those gallbladers who took
out my appendix haha  Wonder if there's something to that?? (laugh)  Whatever,
it did work (g).

hahahahaha :) That is funny!  Well, I would love to visit some of the french
cooking schools as well, to see what they are like.. like Julia Child did :)
That would be neat.. who knows.. maybe when we get rich someday hehe :)  For
now, I'll be content with reading about Julia's experiences .. I love reading
her cookbooks.. she had  such great character sometimes if you know what I
mean.. she was never afraid of looking foolish or making mistakes.. just went
on with whatever she was doing :)
