I often have a bottle of Glenmorangie around, it's 
one of my favorite single malts, the 12 yr olds are
marvelous! they have port finish, sherry finish, and 
if you get the chance to sample them you won't
be dissappointed! I also like the McCallan 12 yr old
so our tastes might be similar.

Machael brought some Johnny Blue here a few trips back
and we sampled it, I did not care for it at all, much too
"sharp" for my tastes, not very peaty and smokey, and 
not smooth (to me at least) at all, a very "hot" scotch.
which is a style I don't care for very much.

Our liquor business is controlled by the state, and that's the 
only place you can buy it by the bottle so if it becomes less
"popular" and sits in the store very long they may lower the 
price to free up shelf space for those that are selling.  Last year
when I was down in California, I found a sale on scotch..Ballentines
was on sale 1/2 gallon for $13 and change! Since a half gallon here 
with all the state taxes and such added on goes for $40-$50 I 
just couldn't resist picking a half gallon up at such a low price! 
Almost a year later and I still have more than half the bottle 
left! You might find the glemorangie 18 for a lot less than
I can find it here! BTW I found the Ballentines on sale at
a SAFEWAY!!
