Hi Carol,

 > distribution..............mostly books. We were actually over on one
 > move (Frankfurt to Berlin) but never got hit with any charges. My

CS> As I was checking out at the moving place, I watched a girl with a
CS> 200lb or so overage pay a startlingly high sum. I dont know where she
CS> moved from, but it was almost 2,000$.

WOW! That's steep; any idea if she was able to do it in installments?
Probably not, as the government usually wants it all at once, and right
away. They owe you and it's a different story.

 > CS> pot). Miso is something you'll want to avoid if needing low-sodium.

 > I don't need low sodium; it's that we've been eating low sodium for a
 > long time. It seems my blood pressure problems are more related to some
 > of the other meds I need. I'm not really sodium reactive with it but
 > we've just seriously cut back on the amount we consume. I may try a
 > couple of spoons full of the with miso version but not a cup full.

CS> Fine with me! I'll probably bring my yellow-tan miso with me as I'm
CS> more used to it. Janis has the darker version and i want to taste
CS> that as the darker ones from my experience have a large flavor

OK, I've had a bag of it in my fridge since HI; I think it's the red
type. I may bring it up and pass it on; it should still be good as it's
been under refrigeration most of the time I've had it. Second thought is
to start playing with it.

CS> Ok, completely out of sequence but go to whatever transition
CS> assistance class Steve lines up. Now is the time and you can go again
CS> later. Mega info for you specifically on medical and lots of bennies
CS> you may not have known about that are specific to you. Should go at
CS> the least 12 months away from
CS> retirement (Navy says 2 years is a good time as well). I've even got
CS> my appointment now for a medical record review for disability. Cant
CS> file this early, but i can get a reasonable estimate.

I know, we should have gone a while back. Now it looks like we'll go
only a few months before Steve retires--but better then than not at all.
We know the Suvivior Benefit Plan (Package.....whatever) is for me,
should Steve pre decease me and have discussed the funding of it a bit.
We also know about Tri-Care after retirement; we're planning to stay
with Prime if we can because of my health issues. But, we'll probably
try to get more information as soon as we can. Thanks for the "head's
up" that we should get going on it.

CS> Ok, back to food <g>.

 > CS> Hehe depends on what leftovers we got and who wants what.

 > Yes, it has the potential for some interesting combinations there. We'll

CS> We'll see how it all goes at the time! I envision lots of meatballs
CS> and oddiments rolling about into strange patterns. Like me wrapping
CS> one in a lite seaweed (fresh kelp) then making a suprise packet
 CS> riceball.

Tuck a bit of hot pepper into it for a real surprise. (G) Remember the
old Fire Ball candy? How about a meat/rice/fire ball?

 > afternoon. It's roughly a 10 1/2 drive time (without counting stops) to
 > Charlotte, NC; we want to get about half way there on Sunday. Steve is
 > looking into possible B&Bs in the mountains.

CS> Should be fun! I plan currently to drive up straight and probably hit
CS> the place we are staying at Thrusday evening. So far, the command is
CS> thinking I can cut out on time to make that. My part of the IG is
CS> pretty much done now with just a report to write up. We look pretty
CS> good. I still wont know for sure though til that week.

Sounds good; let's hope things work out that you can make most of the
fun.

 > CS> Might do that! Hey Charlotte, leggo my lasagna!

 > "Listen to your mom, kiddo!" Think that might help? (G)

CS> ROFTL! You've had kids. What do you think?

A lot of kids will listen to advice from another adult, not their
parent, surprisingly well. Or, if there's somebody closer to her age to
make the suggestion........About 10 years ago, we celebrated
Thanksgiving with some friends and my sister's family. Everybody was
too full after the main part of the meal to appreciate dessert so we
decided to wait a few hours on it. When we figured it was time, my
nephew was first in line, Deborah was 2nd. Tommy wanted to take half of
a pumpkin pie (I'd brought 2 that I made.) right off the bat. Deborah
persuaded him to take only a quarter, leaving more for other people. He
listened to her but after everybody had gone thru the line once, I saw
him go back for another quarter. (G)

CS> (Garumph, she's definately taller than me now and getting more so.
CS> Hey the upside is my pants are too short on her so I got'em all back
 CS> again!)

Sounds like a good deal there. What about the boots you got while you
were in Japan; were you able to reclaim them?

 > > usually gets mutated into bronchitis in the transfer.

 > CS> She turned out to be fine, just a cough that lingered a bit and is now
 > CS> gone.

 > Good. A lingering cough can be cause for concern. Mine can linger for a
 > month or more after the initial bronchitis is knocked down. It drains
 > my energy level enough that getting anything done, even a simple meal,
 > is a major accomplishment.

CS> I've had several issues with bronchchitis but am not 'chronic' for it.
CS> Havent had a problem now in 4 years and that one was quickly knocked
 CS> out.

OTOH, it's an annual occurance with me; sometimes more than once a year.
It usually takes a couple of months to clear, even with antibiotics
giving it an initial shove toward the door.

Catch you later,
