I just ran across something new to me in my sweet life.

We went out Wednesday night to a new restaurant in Palmyra.  
It's Wednesday Special is spaghetti cooked to order at a little 
stand by a Chef.   Just like those omelet stations some places 
have for breakfast.

The Chef had three burners, and a big stack of small fry pans, 
serving three people at once.  He would heat up the mixture of 
meats and veggies you specified, add sauce, and dump it on the 
pasta you chose.  He was classier than my description.  [g]

There was a choice of four pasta, chicken, beef, sausage, 
meatballs, and all kinds of vegetables.  You can even go back 
for seconds if you want.  There was white sauce, and red sauce.  
Plus a mixture of red and white and a good drenching with Vodka 
that was torched for show.  

I chose the vodka sauce.   Of course the tasteless vodka alcohol 
burned off, leaving no effect on the pasta, but it was very showy, 
with a huge ball of orange flame.  The white sort of diluted the 
strong red flavor a bit and I liked it.

That hoopla service was new to me, but my biggest surprise was 
what an excellent taste kalamata olives with pasta is.  I never 
had olives with spaghetti before, and the taste of every mouthful 
of pasta that happened to have an olive in it was superb.   Simple 
things please us simple people.   [g]

The price was $9.95, which included a very nice salad, rolls, a 
macaroni salad he said he had made extra for another menu dish, 
and a glass of Chianti.

When Shirley was there a few weeks ago with some lady friends for 
Pasta night, the Chef had made ravioli stuffed with lobster for 
the extra side dish.  When Shirley mentioned it he said that a 
supplier wanted him to try out the ready made ravioli.   She said 
they were very good.

Butch and I had a nice time.
