It was indeed.  I slipped on the ice, and twisted 90 degrees as I fell. 
I dislocated the tibia, tearing the ligaments on both sides of it, and
then the injury exited through the fibula, breaking it... or so the doc
explained it to me...

Possibly... or it may be that I'm the recipient of newer technology? 
Mine happened in early 2005.

Probably the only benefit to getting it there at the airport was to brag
about provenance... and possibly having it a tad fresher than one could
get at the local grocery store...  :)  Although, with today's airlifted
produce from all over, it might not be all that much fresher... ;) 
Wegmans prides itself on getting the cream of the crop on fruits and
veggies, from wherever, and their pineapples are no exception... ;)  In
season, they get local produce delivered directly to the stores.  Of
course, that doesn't include pineapples... (G)
