Oh. I see. you can have an arbitrary definition of clam chowder. But, no one
else is allowed to have an 'arbitrary' recipe or definition which disagrees
with your arbitrary, but, specious definition without incurring your verbal
wrath.

Below is TRUTH (in capital letters).

CHOW DER; n, A half-soup, half-stew of vegetables, fish or other foods. Derives
from French chaudière 'pot' and was originally a hodge-podge prepared in the
fishing villages of Brittany, who probably carried the custom to Newfoundland,
from which it spread to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and New England

Further on that: The most accepted etymology for the word chowder comes from
the pot in which it is cooked. The French word chaudron translated means "a
pot," developed from chaud, "hot" (also related to the Latin calderia and
English cauldron). The word "chowder" is a New England word that came from
Newfoundland, where Breton fishermen — who would throw portions of the day's
catch and other available foods into a large pot — introduced the word, and
perhaps the fish soup itself (compare bouillabaisse). Another possible origin
for the word chowder is derived from the Old English "jowter", which means

No one disputes your claim that New England Clam Chowder contains no tomatoes.
And you, yourself admit that clam chowder need contain no dairy - as in Rhode
Island chowder. So why are you so intransigent in insisting that clam chowder
can contain NO tomatoes? Especially given the definition of chowder.

It seems that it is just your own personal opinion and stiff necked
pigheadedness.

      Title: Spicy Citrus Bloody Mary
 Categories: Booze, Citrus
      Yield: 6 servings
 
      3 c  Ice
      1    Lemon; in wedges
      1    Lime; in wedges
      1 tb Horseradish; drained
      1    Jalapeno pepper; minced
        pn Salt
      2 c  Vodka
      3 c  Tomato juice
      1 tb Worcestershire sauce
 
  Muddle ice, lemon wedges, lime wedges, horseradish, jalapeno,
  and salt in the bottom of a pitcher. Add vodka, tomato juice,
  and Worcestershire and stir to combine. Refrigerate if not
  serving immediately, or pour into glasses over ice and serve.
