I don't know, I just toss it all in the bag and let them figure it out

I do a bag for paper and another one for all else, then they both go
into the can. Sometimes if I've had a lot of the mixed stuff pile up,
I'll separate it down finer. Same with paper, if there's a lot of
newspaper it gets its own bag and all other paper stuff into another
bag.

Just got to thinking off the wall when you said something about places
to send recycles to. At least there aren't any more trash barges running
around (that I know of) like the one that was sent off of Long Island
some years ago. I remember reading about it but don't remember the final
resolution on it.

I think a private company did the recycles on Schofield Barracks. It was
more of a trailer attached to to a pick up truck arraingement for
collection.

Makes a lot more sense than hauling it all back home again. We try to
save any drink cans/bottles we get while "running around" for the home
bag. Matter of fact, there's a partial bottle of water I bought in
Chapel Hill last week still in the fridge.
