That is why, when we did DishNet or DirecTV head-end systems for apartment
complexes or motels we used 1 metre (or bigger) dishes. Can't have the great
unwashed public get their mindless babble presentations interrupted by anything
as mundane as a blizzard or F5 tornado.

Backhauls can be fun. I used to like to watch the backfeeds from baseball games
where some bored camera man would scan the crowd looking for "upskirt" shots or
worse for the entertainment of the crew. Then see the camera spin hurriedly and
point at the baseball playing field when the director would start his chant of
"live in five, four, three .... "   Bv)=
 
What's more fun is to have a dual feed horn on a two to three metre dish and
get C-band *AND* Ku/Ka band signals. I wish I had known you were wanting to do
something like that - I recently Freecycled a Zenith (Drake) 2500 UHF remote
receiver/positioner. When you get ready to put up a system cruise the
back-roads and look for otherwise intact dishes which are pointed at the sky
(straight up), the ground or to the north. Then knock on the door and offer to
"get rid of that old, unsightly thing" for no charge.  Bv)=

Works like a charm and for a bit of sweat equity you can have a usable dish,
mount, often a working positioner, etc. I have even known guys who were given a
receiver and remote, etc. just for asking to cart off the external hardware.

      Yield: 8 servings

      2 ts Salt
      3 qt Water
  2 1/2 lb Venison or wild boar; in 
           - half-inch cubes
      1 cl Garlic; crushed
      1    Bay leaf

MMMMM------------------------VEGETABLES-----------------------------
      1 lg Carrot; scraped, sliced
      2    Celery ribs; sliced
      1 md Onion; in 8 wedges
     16 oz Can red beans
      6 oz Can tomato paste w/garlic
           Handful green beans; or more
           - halved or quartered
      4    Roma tomatoes; chopped
    1/2 c  Dry red wine
      1 ts Basil leaves
      2 ts Tony Chachere's Creole
           - seasoning
  1 1/2 ts Oregano leaves

MMMMM--------------------------PASTA--------------------------------
      8 oz Pasta shells
    1/2 ts Paprika
      2 ts Sugar
 
  MEAT: Bring the water to a boil. Put in all first part
  ingredients and then simmer, covered, for 3 hours. 

  VEGETABLES: Add all second part ingredients to pot and
  simmer for 30 minutes.

  PASTA: Add all third part ingredients to pot and simmer
  for and additional 30 minutes.

  Serve with lots of garlic bread.
