The "Australian accent" is not only different in different parts of
the country, but is constantly changing. The "Queeeeenslaaaand" drawl,
or "Crocodile Dundee" sound can usually be identified, but is
constantly being modified by migration to that state by the
faster-speaking Victorians. Sydney-siders tend to adopt USAn accents
and practices more, as they are closer geographically and culturally
to USA than other Australians. Originally the accents reflected the
mainly British origin of the early migrants, with the former convict
colonies mainly populated by Cockney criminals and their Irish guards.
South Australia, with its free settler ancestry has a more cultured
British sound, often with a slight Scots overlay.  This was reinforced
by the large numbers of "Ten Pound Poms" who came here in the '50s and
'60s.  (I worked almost exclusively with these for 10 years, and
picked up the sound to some degree.)

Now, the English as spoken by the multi-lingual children of refugees
and other migrants from the Middle East, Singapore, China, Northern
Africa, Vietnam and other SE Asia has developed into a fairly plain
international English, readily understood by other English speakers.
The younger generation is developing away from their parents in most
ways, so it is not uncommon to see a mini-skirted black teenager
walking with her almost fully-covered Sudanese mother.  And of course
almost all taxi drivers are Indian students.  The president of the
local taxi association is a Sikh.

It is interesting to see and hear black African ladies discussing
vegetables that they both know, with the local Vietnamese shop keeper.
The food is the same, just the names are different.

I had a look at that.  I am amazed at why so many people can get so
interested in a cruddy TV advertisement that they have to find out who
supplied the voice.  After all, who cares?  If I am watching a
commercial TV and an advert comes on, I mute it immediately anyway.
We do get a lot of BBC TV programs here, and some of those originating
from British country counties carry those accents.

I disagreed with several of those equivalents; others I just didn't
know.  Young MLoo has also noted errors.

      Title: Joint Of Whale Meat Steeped In Red Wine Marinade
 Categories: Scandinavia, Native, Game, Marinades, Whale
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
  1 1/4 kg Whale meat
      3 dl Red wine
      1 dl Vegetable oil
      3    Ground cloves
    1/2 ts Coarsely ground pepper
      2 ts Salt
           The Marinade:
    3/4 l  Juices from the meat
           Thickening (milk and flour)
      4    Dessert spoonfuls of sour
           Cream (20% rømme)
           Sugar colouring
           Salt
 
  It may be a good idea to bind the joint to help it keep in good shape.
  Place it in a small oven dish and pour the marinade over. Leave the
  joint there until the next day, turning it at regular intervals.
  Remove the joint from the dish, dry it well and rub it with salt.
  Cook the joint until it turns a pleasant brown colour all over, turn
  down the heat and add water to reach 2-3 cm up the side of the joint,
  approx. 3/4 litre. Let the joint simmer for about 20 minutes, turn it
  over and leave it for another 20 minutes. Measure enough of the
  juices to make enough marinade, about 3/4 litre. Add the thickening
  to the marinade, and then the sour cream to taste. Serve with boiled
  beans or other vegetables, and potatoes - boiled or fried in the pan.
