Does that mean that all those outstations can service any car
with 12 hours' notice? If so, is that an advertised benefit?

I checked United, and it flew almost all of its mainline
routes but cancelled almost all its midwestern spoke flights.

So if your 6-hour run took 10, I presume you'd have been paid
for 10.

I'm still trying to work this out. Small amounts of fructose
are okay, even supposedly beneficial (being low glycemic).
Is it that the more fructose something has, the worse, or is
there another difference between HFCS and CS? Because some
relatively natural foods have bunches of fructose, most
notably honey, which I seem to recall having equal amounts
of fructose, glucose, and something elseose. Also agave
syrup, by no stretch of the imagination unprocessed but
still touted as healthy, typically has more fructose than
HFCS.

I'm sure a bean counter figured that making it a component
would improve the bottom line by a fraction of a percent,
but someone with a finger more aligned with the pulse of
America argued against it.

      Title: Karotten in Bier Gedunstet (Carrots In Beer)
 Categories: German, Vegetables
      Yield: 4 servings

      4 ea Carrots; Large                    1/4 ts Salt
      1 tb Butter                              1 ts Sugar
      1 c  Dark Beer; Any Brand

  Peel and slice carrots into long, thin slices.  Melt butter in medium-size
  frypan; add beer and carrots.  Cook slowly until tender, stirring
  frequently.  Stir in salt and sugar.  Cook for another 2 minutes and serve
  hot.
