Couldn't help chuckling at that... having had to do it way too often
myself... ;0  And (as I think I saw as I was reading forward), you
really do need to be careful about having to ingest too much salt... ;) 
Maybe one should throw the peck of salt over one's shoulder...?  (G)

Speaking of sodium imbalance... that's one of the things that kept my
neighbor in the hospital longer than planned...  The doctors discovered
after the fact that she couldn't clear all the sodium from the saline
solution they'd been giving her pre and post surgery for the fracture. 
A previous medication apparently has rendered her kidneys pretty much
incapable of concentrating the urine to clear the sodium, so it was just
building up in her system until they switched to dextrose solution and
got serious about helping her body clear it...   I was thinking about
your sodium problems at that point... ;0  We got a clearer picture of
why she was always needing to drink so much water and other fluids... it
was the only way to keep things in balance all along, so even if it was
contributing to incontinence problems, it was the lesser of evils, not
the greater...  As always, I add to my medical knowledge every time I
get stuck on hospital duty... ;/

Sometimes all one can do is stand by.  Been there more than once.

Those partial replacements do heal up pretty fast, especially when one
is in fairly good shape beforehand...  Sounds like she's getting along
pretty well.  :)
