Greed, but as the products at that level are fungible (cheap
watery beer is pretty well commoditized), so the distributor
shoots himself in the foot unless he stocks several different
lines.

You know those tickets I picked up? There's face value and then
there are the surcharges - I think it was the Giants who make
you pay for picking them up at the stadium, but they also charge
a convenience fee for allowing you to print them up yourself.
And a yet bigger fee if you want to have them sent in the mail.
And then there's a processing fee per ticket and a processing fee
per order. The all-in price was at least 2 and sometimes up to 5
a ticket higher than face value.

Sweet potato mash
cat: side, starch, airline
servings: 8

4 sweet potatoes
1/4 lb sweet butter, melted
3/4 c heavy cream, warmed

Pierce potatoes with a fork and bake on a foil-lined
rack in a 400F until done, 45-60 min. Remove from oven
and let cool until easy to handle. Peel off skin and
mash the flesh with a fork. Add remaining ingredients;
serve with island-inspired jerk chicken and minted
mango salsa..
