Another I use for some things is Notepad++ which is more WIMP aware than PFE or
edit.com. It is still being developed and is, again, my favourite price - FREE.

Notepad++ does have 64-bit functionality ... or so it is claimed. As I do not
(at this time) have a 64 bit OS I cannot confirm that. 
 
It's not as simple as just adding zeroes. AFAIK the kernel needs to be compiled
under 64 bit protocols or something. However, I have been doing some reading on
this and apparently Winders Seven can be installed as either 32-bit or 64-bit.
Me, I don't care if it takes microseconds or milliseconds so long as it gets
there and the answers are correct.  Bv)=  There is also supposed to be a 32-bit
emulation mode when in the 64-bit OS. But, I have no direct experience of that.

I have my A31 Thinkpad loaded with W2K - so I can run my favourite OLR ...
CMPqwk, which is a 16 bit program and cannot even be installed on XP and higher
OSes. But, that is a work in progress. For the nonce I am using Multi-Mail as
my OLR.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Kentucky Kernels
 Categories: Cookies, Snacks, Booze, Nuts
      Yield: 10 servings
 
      4 tb Butter
      1    Box of Powdered Sugar
    1/3 c  Bourbon
      1 c  Pecans; chopped
 
  Cream butter by hand. By hand, alternately blend in
  powdered sugar and bourbon. DO NOT USE MIXER. Fold
  in pecans. Drop by 2/3 teaspoonful onto wax-paper
  lined cookie sheets. Cover with wax paper.

  Refrigerate until set.

  Cover and store in refrigerator.
