 NB> Ah, well...  Not all the crazies end up in asylums... and not all that

Though more and more is being archived some way, which
makes it even more peculiar that that plane disappearance
seems to be baffling everyone. I suspect, though, that
at least one of these governments' intelligence apparatus
has a fair idea of what happened.

 NB> Who knows...  Maybe the polar vortex opened some other vortex that
 NB> swallowed the plane...?

Just as likely that the flying saucer came. I'm leaning
toward the diverted intact scenario, though there is some
appeal to the crew suicide theory. And then there's the
possibility that after the plane went off course, some
military guys panicked and shot down the unknown blip on
their radar, and there's a coverup in progress. I find
the inconsistency of the Malaysians' claims interesting.
That's the only thing about all of this that I've gotten
a little antsy about - this year I've flown over or within
anti-aircraft missile distance of some fairly trigger-happy
countries, including Ukraine, Chechnya, Dagestan, Azerbaijan,
Iran, Pakistan, and India.

Not a manifestation of deathwish but of defiance, though
it's solidified into ritual now.

I was disappointed when so few people flew on 9/11/02
(bunch of sissies), and somewhat heartened when the
numbers for subsequent iterations of the date have
improved toward normal, though I suspect that it's
because people have begun to forget.

 NB>> ... I like stuffed animals. Oven baked with bread crumb stuffing.

cat: Utica, Italy, dessert
yield: 1 batch

4 eggs
1 1/4 c sugar
2 Tb whiskey or rum
2 Tb vegetable oil
3 ts baking powder
3 ts vanilla
3 c flour, more as needed
oil for frying
honey
toppings
- candy sprinkles, nuts, candied almonds, etc.

Dough

1. Prepare ahead and refrigerate 3 hr to overnight.

2. Mix eggs and sugar - beat until creamy and fluffy.

3. Stir in whiskey or rum (optional).

4. Stir in vanilla.

5. Add baking powder and slowly add flour until soft
dough is formed.

6. Cover tightly and refrigerate.

Making and Frying Dough

1. On lightly floured surface, roll pieces of dough
into ropes about the width of your little finger.

2. Cut ropes into little cubes.

3. Preheat oil over med-high heat in large skillet.

4. Once oil is very hot (test with one or two pieces)
gently drop dough pieces into oil in batches. Cook until
golden brown (1-2 min).

5. Remove from oil with slotted spoon and let drain
on paper towels.

6. Once completely cool toss with warmed honey to coat
and place on serving plates in piles.

7. Top with sprinkles, toasted nuts, candied almonds, etc.
