Which restaurant? I had a favorite waiter at Galatoire's,
Imre Szalai; he would give us free stuff, and he was a hoot.
I last saw him some time before Katrina; went on Google and
discovered that he's still there. There's a video of him
making milk punch out there on the Internet.

Okay, whatever. It was Lilli who wanted me to practice on
that .30-06; peculiar as she is the one with the eyesight.
I do wonder if I would have the nerve to stand my ground
before an attacking polar bear, even with a rifle.

It is said that prophylactic use of antibiotics and/or
Pepto-Bismol can prevent or minimize such embarrassments,
and when I go abroad with Lilli I take a couple boxes of
pink pills as well as a bottle of Imodium. They work well
as a charm - I hardly have had to administer any.

Well, using it as a base of operations.

Brandy milk punch
cat: booze, dairy
servings: 1

ice
2 oz brandy or bourbon
5 oz whole milk
1/2 ts vanilla extract
1 ts simple syrup
Fresh nutmeg

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the
alcohol, milk, vanilla extract, and simple syrup.
Shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass
filled with ice.

Garnish with a light dusting of freshly grated
nutmeg. Serve immediately.
