======================
Hi Nancy,

NB> NB>> So far, as far as I know, Mommy hasn't set up a POA yet,
NB> either... NB>> that probably should be done soon, while it still can
NB> be done.. at NB>> least so far her declines have all been physical

RH> Yes, but don't put it off too long once you see the start of the
RH> mental decline. She may resist/resent it but it will save problems in
RH> the long run. Steve's younger sister does the same for their
RH> folks--goes down to FL every so often to take care of things like that.

NB> We can (sorta) gang up on her... She tends to listen to my brother
NB> Rob, who has the co-executorship with me for her will... as well as to
 NB> my
NB> sister Lydia that she lives with, and to me... also to another sister
NB> and her hubby... we might just have to talk it out at family camping
NB> when we're all together... ;) I agree it shouldn't wait too long...
NB> better set in place too early (and kept inactive until actually
NB> needed) than being put off too long. :)

That may be the way to go but just make sure the lawyer understands it
is to be open ended (or a far out expiration date) so you aren't running
in for a renewal every couple of years. Do have a family talk at one of
your get togethers--you might be surprised at what some consider
important, others may think to be trivial and you need to get it all
worked out.

NB> RH>> And yummy! Steve walked out to Lowe's today but forgot to get
NB> one RH>> thing on the list. He did get one thing not on it tho.
NB> NB>> Not bad... both on the only one omission, and on the only one
NB> NB>> addition... especially if the addition might have been something
NB> NB>> that should have been on the list to begin with... ;)

RH> It was an optional. I could have made my own mayo but he got a ride
RH> the next day out to Lowe's and picked it up. Ended up not needing it
RH> for the potato salad I made for Life Group (just enough in the old jar)
RH> but now I have it for the next time I need it.

 NB> That works... :)

I've dipped into it, and grabbed another jar as back up. This is the
time of year I start to use more of it than in the colder months.

RH> Potato salad was red potatoes cooked, then a cup of (home made)
RH> Italian dressing poured on them after draining but while they were
RH> still hot, hard boiled egg and dressing of mayo mixed with about a
RH> tablespoon or two each of cider vinegar and spicy brown mustard. Got
RH> lots of compliments at Life Group today.

 NB> Sounds pretty yummy... :)

It was--forget where I picked up the Italian dressing hint, maybe it was
here, but that makes quite a differnece in taste. Got asked if
worchestershire sauce was part of the dressing. (G)

RH> Small turn out so I brought some home.

NB> So you can enjoy it longer... :) I don't mind bringing home
NB> leftovers of things we enjoy... as long as it isn't too much to eat in
 NB> reasonable time... ;)

Enough for one full serving, and a very small portion each for another
meal. I could keep a bowl full in the fridge and nibble on it thru the
week!

NB> RH>> Very much! Logan tore up the cardboard box the blocks were in so
NB> N RH>> said "any bag" would do to put them in. I made a bag out of
NB> denim, RH>> with blocks appliqued on, for a replacement.
NB> NB>> No doubt more than your friend was expecting... :)

RH> Quite so! But, it will help her kids keep their blocks organised and
RH> have a remembrence of their time in WF.

NB> For many years to come... :)

Yes, and the memories of the church family. Their oldest was only 8
months when they moved here; now she's 4 and has 2 younger brothers.

NB> NB>> I had a produce worker cut one in half for me... some years
NB> I've NB>> taken both halves, especially when I was buying for someone
NB> else as NB>> well (took one for me, and the other went into her
NB> groceries)... But NB>> this year I just took the one half... :)

RH> No produce worker around when I grabbed this head. I only used about
RH> 2/3 of the red cabbage the other night so the small parts left from
RH> both will go into either hot or cold slaw.

 NB> That works, too... :)

I'll probably do the cold slaw next week, ran out of week to do it this
week.

NB> NB>>> Some things can cook themselves practically, others need to be
 NB> NB>>> better monitored... ;)
NB> RH>> Yes, and the ones that need to be monitored, really need the
NB> watching. RH>> It's easy to take your eye off them for a split second
 NB> and ruin
NB> RH>> whatever is being made (speaking from experience).
NB> NB>> Learn the hard way... ;) I tend to not do any of that sort of
NB> NB>> thing... too easy to get distracted by something... ;)

RH> I should have known better--and will remember next time that I need to
RH> make the sauce first, then do everything else.

NB> And you'll have the memory of this time to help you remember... ;)

Yes, and the not as good as it should have been alfredo. But, it still
beat the chemical soup sold in jars.

Catch you later,
