All professional sports are played by jocks with an oversupply
of testosterone, some of it unnaturally sourced. Sometimes
there is a modicum of gentility, though. Are you aware that as
of this season collisions at the plate have been banned? Not
sure I agree with the ban on steroids or with the ban on
collisions at the plate. Mad magazine once designed a riff on
baseball where the batter was allowed to keep and use the bat
while running the bases, and other violence-encouraging
innovations were innovated. I'm surprised something like that
hasn't been tried in real life.

It's my impression that the sugar does as much of a number
as the booze.

Agreed.

Here's one that makes up for the one you posted,
with 4 lb of meat and over 4 lb of cheese for
supposedly 8 servings. Of course, with tarragon,
dill, "minced" cloves, and Worcester sauce, it
might not be fit for man nor beast, either.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.00

      Title: Lasagna From Loren Martin
 Categories: Cyberealm, Italian, jk
      Yield: 8 servings

      2    Pounds sausage
      2    Pounds ground beef
      1 c  Onion, chopped
    1/2 c  Chopped celery
    1/2 c  Chopped carrots
      4    6-oz cans tomato paste
      1    16-oz can whole tomatoes,
           Undrained & chopped coarsel
      2    15-oz cans tomato sauce
      1    16-oz can stewed tomatoes
      1    10 3/4 oz can tomato puree
      2 tb Worcestershire sauce
      1 ts Each:  tarragon, dill,
           Chili powder & mrs. dash
      2 ea Cloves, minced
      1 ts Beau monde
      1 ts Whole oregano
      2    8-oz pkgs lasagna noodles
      6 c  Ricotta cheese
      4    Eggs, beaten
      1 c  Grated parmesan cheese
      4 tb Chopped fresh parsley
      8 c  (32 oz) shredded
           Mozzarella cheese

  Combine ground meats with chopped onions, celery and carrots.  Cook
  until meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat; drain well and stir
  in all spices and tomato products. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and
  simmer for 2 or 3 hours, stirring occasionally.  Cook lasagna noodles
  according to package directions, and drain.  Combine ricotta cheese,
  eggs, Parmesan cheese and parsley; mix well.  Spread about 1/2 cup of
  meat sauce in greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish.  Layer half each of
  noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.  Repeat
  layers, except for mozzarella cheese. Cover and bake at 375 degrees F
  for 25-30 minutes. Remove cover; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella
  cheese and bake an additional 5-10 minutes. Let stand at least 10
  minutes before serving. (Please note recipe continued as LASAGNA2)
