That's a functional as I get (or care to get) some days.

Welcome to not being bulletproof any more. Just remember what happens when you
quit getting older.

When I had my week in a coma they had me on an I-V Lasix drip with a tube on
the other end to prevent drips from soaking the sheets. Wrung about 100# of
water out of me, they did.

I don't take drugs because I like to, rather because I need to. And if I don't
need to ....

A few years ago we tried stopping the diabetes med - and that didn't work at
all well. I'm on a minimal dosage of glimepiride and lisinopril (BP med). And
probably will be until they render me down for the lard and scatter my ashes
throughout the tenderloin district.

      Title: Marinated No-Roll Beef Tenderloin
 Categories: Beef, Marinades
      Yield: 8 Servings
 
      5 lb Beef tenderloin
      2 cl (to 4) garlic; minced
      4 tb (to 6 tb) coarse ground
           - pepper
      1 c  Worcestershire sauce
      2 c  Soy sauce
      2 c  Beef bouillon
 
  Wash the tenderloin and pat dry. Rub the minced garlic
  all over the tenderloin and then rub the pepper into it.
  
  Poke the tenderloin all over with a meat fork.
  
  Combine the Worcestershire sauce and the soy sauce; pour
  into a large roasting pan.
  
  Add the tenderloin to the roasting pan and allow to
  marinate for 2 to 3 hours. Turn the tenderloin
  occasionally while it is marinating.
  
  Preheat the oven to 500oF/260oC. Drain off the marinade
  and pour the beef bouillon around the beef tenderloin in
  the roasting pan.
  
  Put into the preheated oven and immediately reduce the
  heat to 350oF/175oC. Cook for 18 minutes per pound for
  rare, 20 minutes per pound for medium rare.
  
  Slice and serve.
  
  Note: If cooking a beef tenderloin that is less than 3
  pounds, you may have to reduce the cooking time so that it
  does not get overcooked. Use a thermometer to test
  internal temperature for best results.
