I'm sure you did as a First Sergeant.  I can only imagine.

He may have gotten one of the "other than honorable".  IIRC, those have 
to be reviewed in order to see if you'd qualify for your VA benefits 
after being unceremoniously booted out like that.

I did know one particuarly messed up recruit that did wind up in the 
stockade.  He was given "other than honorable" and wound up driving a 
taxi in Lawton (OK).  I happened to get into his cab once and he told me 
that he was treated better behind bars than he was when he was in basic 
training!

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Focaccia
 Categories: Breads, Herbs, Cheese, Italian
      Yield: 12 servings
 
  2 3/4 c  All-purpose flour
      1 ts Salt
      1 ts White sugar
      1 tb Active dry yeast
      1 ts Garlic powder
           +=OR=+
      2 tb Chopped garlic
      1 ts Dried oregano
      1 ts Dried thyme
    1/2 ts Dried basil
      1 pn Ground black pepper
      1 tb Oil
      1 c  Water
      2 tb Olive oil
      1 tb Grated Parmesan cheese
      1 c  Mozzarella
 
  1. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt, sugar, yeast,
  garlic powder, oregano, thyme, basil and black pepper. Mix in the
  vegetable oil and water.
  
  2. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly
  floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic. Lightly oil a
  large bowl, place the dough in the bowl, and turn to coat with oil.
  Cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  
  3. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Punch dough down;
  place on greased baking sheet. Pat into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle -
  or whatever shape you like. Brush top with olive oil. Sprinkle with
  Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  
  4. Bake in preheated hearth oven or in an oven on a pizza stone for 15
  minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
