Something like that.  Then again a friend has twin sons who are only about

year older than his oldest grandkid. The parents got married at 19 and 20 
respectively.   I won't even bring in the late Tony Randall.  He got
married 
a second time in his 70s to a much younger woman.  There weren't any kids 
with wife #1 though, so it didn't get as weird as it could have.

I personally wouldn't call being down to two burners still working, but 
that's just me.  Also my antipathy for electric stoves.  We had a
pushbutton 
one early on.  After the buttons died for the second time and we couldn't 
get replacements, we went to gas.  That croaked a few years ago too, so in 
went a new gas cook top.  Nothing fancy, but it works.

They say about ten years if you're lucky.

That's what we did.  The lower end models tend to last longer.

Mine's a built-in.  We're on our fourth one.  The one that came in the
house 
died shortly after my parents moved in.  My mom got a new one, that worked, 
in the early 70s and it lasted 30 years and change.  The replacement lasted 
a whole year before needing a major repair that also failed.  It was a
fancy 
one.  The cheap-o replacement she bought after that one died is still going 
fine.
