My grandson asked me to make this recipe called Bacon Explosian he'd seen on
one of the food networks.. essentially you make a weave of about 2lbs of bacon,
spread bulk sausage meat on the weave, roll it up and smoke it in barbecue
sauce.  He didn't ask his mom to do it since he knew she'd never tolerate even
touching the barbecue sauce with her severe allergies to tomatoes, plus she
really hates pork :( :(

It was fun to do, and tasted good! ... I can see how cooking a meatloaf with a
bacon wrap like that would be excellent.   We joked about the
heart-attack factor as we made it and then ate it, but we all survived the meal
hehe

Ah, another favorite here.. baked beans with bacon.

I always save bacon grease - I use it for eggs sometimes but mostly potato
dishes, pasta e fagioli (bean soup), etc.
