The little guy is getting hurt, but if he can sell some of his crops as
conventional, some organic, it's better than losing out completley.
Hopefully he can work things out to a good resolution with the bigger
guys using the pesticides, etc.

Got to teach kids early on. I'm not sure how much our grandkids know
about farming. We'll have to take them on field trips I guess. When we
were living in Swansboro, we got to know a farmer and bought our milk
from him for several years. He was the one we got the hog from, not long
before Deborah was born. (I had to run after Rachel for a couple of
hours while it was being cut up, then go home and wrap everything for
the freezer. No fun at 7 months pregnant.) We also sourced other local
farmers for various things (tomatoes, peaches, beans, sweet potatoes),
especially the last year before Steve went into the Army.

True, we've probably passed a lot of the same ones in our comings and
goings in that part of NY. (G)
