Yes, it worked well.  Next year I'll be able to start "on time" as well :)

Did the plant get full sun all day?  Maybe she didn't let the cut up potatoes
with sprouts dry out before she planted them.. there are a couple things that
can go wrong with potatoes, like if the potatoes themselves are exposed to
sunlight, they can turn green - the green parts are poisonous and have to be
cut off before eating.  The plants do need consistent watering.  If it warms up
too much, you can work in some straw or whatever to cool it down - potato
plants like cooler temps.

Earlier years I bought seed potatoes, but this year I just used a potato that
had healthy looking sprouts on it.  I cut that guy up (maybe in quarters) with
a sprout on each, and let the pieces dry out for a day or two on the counter.
Then into the dirt they went, sprout side up.

Me neither!  But I think they are willing to try anything that they can tell
I've planted Lol  Btw, they LOVED the greenbeans on their side of the fence as
well (grin)  You can bet I spent some time pushing those to "my" side :)

===Chicken Breast Parmesean===
We had this for dinner the other night.. todays' lunch was chicken parmensean
subs.. :)

Preheat oven to 375F

3 chicken breast halves
2 cups bread crumbs (I used home-made bread ends ground up with spices) 1 cup
flour
1 egg beaten with 2 TB. italian parmesean cheese, 2TB parsley, salt and pepper

Marinara tomato sauce
mozzarella cheese
Parmesean cheese
About 2 inches olive oil

Coat the chicken breast halves in flour on both sides, then dip in the egg then
coat in the bread crumbs on both sides. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Fry
the coated chicken breasts for about 3 minutes, turning to brown on both sides.
Don't crowd them in the pan. Place about 1/2 cup to 1 cup sauce in the bottom
of a large baking pan. Place the browned chicken in the pan and top with a
little more sauce.  Cover each breast with slices of mozzarella, then sprinkle
about a two tablespoons of parmesan over each.  Top with a bit more sauce. Bake
in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until done.
