It was a godsend. I discovered that it worked way better
than the Internet at my friends' homes or the hotels. Some
quirks, though. Google News sometimes uses ads.doubleclick.net
for its redirects, and the house firewall doesn't allow that
to go through. Also, there is a group of sites notalwayslearning.com,
notalwaysright.com, and so on; one of these, notalwaysrelated.com
has been flagged by the software as a pornography site, which to
the best of my eyesight, it isn't.

Also I couldn't Telnet through it and had to use Doc's via
his Web interface, which on at least one occasion managed to
drop a packet and reset the pointers anyway.

It was great, especially when I needed to get to the bathroom
pronto. Later, they gave me a commode of my own. Truth be
told, during this adventure my roommates weren't too bad.

I didn't want to alarm people by saying, help, help, I'm
dying of peritonitis.

Yes, real poops now! somewhat too frequent, but you take
what you can get.

Grilled Dove Kabobs
cat: Arkansas, game, main
servings: 5

15 doves
1 lb smoked pepper bacon
2 md onion, qtered
2 zucchini or yellow squash, chunked
1 cn pineapple chunks
1 red or green bell pepper, chunked
Wood skewers, soaked in water
h - Basting Sauce
1/2 c butter
1 ts paprika
1/2 ts salt
1/2 ts black pepper
1/2 ts garlic granules
1/2 ts dried chipotle pepper
1/4 ts ground cloves

Melt butter in small pan. Add spices and stir until
mixed well. Set aside but keep warm. Remove skewer
from water. Fold slice of bacon in half. Wrap around
dove breast and place on skewer. Alternate slice of
onion, zucchini, pepper and pineapple on skewer. Repeat
process until skewer is full. As you finish a skewer,
brush with basting sauce and set aside. Repeat process
until all doves are skewered. Cook on indirect heat on
grill until done, basting about every 5 min.
Cooking time should be about 15 to 20 min.
