Usually our Wegmans only has the one date, sometimes two, so it doesn't
take much extra time or effort to check that too along with opening the
carton to check... if there's a choice, I go for longer dates...

About 8 months for us, too... :)  Not sure which is worse, to know you
have to stop early or to have it just happen... ;0
