Though in the middle of nowhere, the place is a pretty modern
house, with the ecologically sound on-demand hot water. The
problem was that the water pressure was too low to trip the
heating sensor, and the lowness of the pressure came from a
leak in the system rather than a lack of water. I ended up
going to a Hilton to have a shower.

Not sure. I have heard/read testimony that wild game animals
tend to smell bad (before processing of course), I would
guess especially when water is scarce. Not being much of a
hunter, I can't speak to this firsthand, but perhaps others
here could.

But ... but ... isn't everything raw and natural and
organic and pasture-fed good for you?

Actually, to me that looks okay minus the adjectives,
except that there is a good 10x too much nutmeg.

Brazil Nut Roast
Categories: vegetarian, main
Serves: 3 or 4

4 oz Brazil nuts
4o z wholemeal breadcrumbs
4 oz carrots, scrubbed and grated
3 oz onion, peeled and chopped
1 red pepper, deseeded and chopped
1 green pepper, deseeded and chopped
2 ts dried mixed herbs
2 lg free range eggs
3 tb tomato puree
salt and pepper to taste

This is a delicious recipe for a really moist nut loaf
that is full of wonderful flavors and textures. It goes
down very well with non-vegetarians too and is perfect
for special occasions. Try it with crisp roast potatoes,
some sweetcorn and green beans.

Oven at 190 C/375 F/gas 5

Line and lightly grease a 2 lb loaf tin. Chop nuts
finely and mix with breadcrumbs. Mix together the carrot,
onion and peppers. Add the herbs and season to taste with
salt and pepper. Place all the above in a large bowl and
stir in the beaten eggs and tomato puree, adding a little
water if necessary. Pile into loaf tin and smooth down.
Bake for 45 min. Can be served hot or cold.
