Control, yes, but total eradication, no. I understand it's used for a
lot of things over in Japan, including a thickening agen like
cornstarch.

No big deal, just interesting to see if he tried it and what he thinks
of it. I like it in small amounts, Steve doesn't like it at all. AFAIK,
nobody else in either my family or his, has tried it (same with durian).

That was the second one we went to, the first being the year before in
MD. Time, distance and finances kept us from previous ones.

Dad wasn't eating much at home any more, unless I was cooking. Even
then, he'd not have that much and take so much longer than he used to,
to eat it. I think his appetite has perked up some now in the nursing
home from what he's indicated. He said some of the excursions they can
go on, are trips to McDonald's but I don't think he's signed up for any
of those. Good way to get out, but not that great a meal.
