Got to get that last scrap of meat used for the protein. Seriously, I've
thought about making sausage at various times over the years but have
never tried. I have done scrapple, and one year we did try making souse
but neither of us liked it so never tried that again. Also, for a while
Steve wasn't eating any pork so it wasn't worth trying to make sausage
just for me. If life slows down this fall, I may give it a try.

Good, let's hope that this time all goes well. Steve had to get his new
glasses (bought thru the VA eye clinic) re-done as they had the segments
wrong. The first time around the glasses took a couple of months to come
in but the corrected ones were back within a week.

 RH> I don't mind small amounts of almond flavoring but it seems to be a
 RH> "must" with cherries, for some arcane reasoning. I'd rather have
 RH> cherries without it, just the cherry flavor but it's almost impossible

I've not given too much thought to what we'll be doing for the picnic,
probably a bit of this and that. Maybe I'll cook Italian one night, or,
if I can find a nice cut of beef, do a sauerbraten. Time will tell.
