It's a bureaucracy. They ripped out the clean, electric trolley system years 
ago and replaced it with smelly, high maintenance busses -- in the name of 
flexibility of routes and service. But, just try to get them to shift, 
institute, or eliminate a route .... just try.

OTOH, Ruler Foods (a Kroger semi-warehouse outfit) opened a store that *IS* on 
a bus line. And they're building another out on the near southwest side. Also 
served by a couple of bus routes.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Martina's Bus Stop White Chili
 Categories: Poultry, Chilies, Beans, Herbs
      Yield: 8 Servings
 
      4    Chicken breasts
     29 oz (2 cans} chicken broth
      1 ts Garlic powder
      8 oz (2 cans) chopped green
           - chilies
      3 tb Liquid from pickled jalepeno
           - chilies
      1 ts Salt
      3 tb Oil
  1 1/2 ts White pepper
     30 oz (2 cans) Great Northern
           - beans
 21 1/2 oz (2 cans) Cream of chiken
           - soup
      2 tb Minced fresh cilantro
 
  Put chicken in a glass baking dish, pour in 1 can of
  broth, cover with tin foil and bake at 350øF/175øC for
  an hour.
  
  Remove chicken and reserve broth. Cut chicken into small
  pieces and season with white pepper and garlic powder.
  
  Saute chicken in oil in stockpot for 2-3 min. Add reserved
  broth, and remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 min.
  
  SERVING OPTIONS: Cut 6-8 flour tortillas into strips and
  place in serving bowls, ladle chilli over top and garnish
  with sour cream and mozzarella cheese. (this will bring
  your calorie count up.)
  
  We just eat the soup plain because it's so good and
  filling on it's own.
  
  Makes 8 servings.
