Nah, I can't think of any justification except airway robbery.

To align that little bit of info with the rest of this post,
the facs there are mostly counterexamples to the adage that
"those who can do do; those who can't do teach." Some of
their fingers can really fly ... as fast as my mind can wander
(though I will admit that I made no mistakes that an audience
could have caught).

The complainant was atypical - mostly we shrug and don't
substantially miss a meal that doesn't happen.

Baked Pasta with Bacon Mushrooms Spinach & Ricotta
cat: Singaporean, Italianate, main
servings: 4 to 6

300 g white button mushrooms (15 lg), sliced
5 strips streaky bacon
300 g baby spinach
3 c small pasta (I used farfalle), boiled 3 min
- in salted water
4 c marinara/tomato pasta sauce
4 Tb cream
1 Tb grated Parmesan
1 c ricotta cheese
1 c shredded mozzarella

Fry the bacon till reddish-pink but not crisp. If
using a nonstick pan, there's no need to use oil,
the bacon will render its own oil anyway. Drain,
cut into 1 cm cubes, and reserve.

Using 2 Tb of the bacon grease, fry the mushrooms
till cooked through.

Add spinach and fry till wilted.

Add marinara sauce, stirring through.

Add cream, stir through.

Add grated parmesan, stirring through.

Add slightly softened pasta, toss through.

Time to assemble the casserole! On the bottom
layer, spread a generous layer of the pasta mix.

Alternate with layer of crumbed ricotta and diced
bacon.

Repeat twice, so you end up with 3 layers of each.
Top with shredded mozzarella.

Because everything's pre-cooked, bake uncovered for
15 min at 190C/375F or until the cheese is browned.
Rest about 5 min before serving.
