Ärende: eating habits 999

Too bad that something that starts off as a gesture of
kindness turns into a nightmare for everyone. You can't
release the animals into a wild that they never knew and
were never in their lives in a condition to be released into.
So they die.

 RH> Yes, as they were mostly outdoor pets and got a good bit of exercise.
 RH> Cats were also "hired" for mousekeeping so they got extra protein

You know when you've been feeding your cats too much?
They bite the heads off the mice and leave the rest.
Not to be gross, but that's true.

I went to Bojangles the other day. It was semi-yummy, but
the Na content was through the roof - I was puffed up most
of the day after.

 ML> Even nutritional labeling isn't going to do any good -
 ML> you won't scare off the clientele even if you talk about
 ML> 1000 Calories and 1000 mg of Na in every dubiously
 ML> delicious sandwich.
 RH> No, but threaten a heart attack or stroke while in their 30s might
 RH> scare them. Then too, some might not live long enough to reach their
 RH> 30s. 
 
Doesn't tend to. People tend not to have a sense of their
mortality until way past that time.

Catalina dressing
categories: tastealike, salad
yield: 1 pint

1/2 c olive oil 
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c ketchup 
1/4 c red wine vinegar
1/4 c grated sweet onion 
1/2 ts paprika
1/ ts Worcestershire sauce
1/2 ts hot sauce
Salt and pepper to taste 

Whisk together olive oil, sugar, ketchup, vinegar, onion,
paprika, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and
pepper to taste.

not counting pantry staples. Boooo!
