Actually mine is due to basic laziness and sloth. The battery lasts for a long
time if I'm not actually using the thing. And some of my folks who call use
their cell phones as they have a plan where cell to cell calls are not charged
against their usage (Georgia, for instance). Also, unlimited long distance (no
roaming charges) within the US is included on my cell phone plan. The land-line
has *only* local service with NO extras. I also don't have voice mail set up on
the cell. Just the French Butler on the land line.

I actually like SPAM - if encounters are spaced far enough apart. It's
something I could get tired of in a hurry. But it's nice once in a while. My
favourite is SPAM diced up with green onions in scrambled eggs. AKA C-Ration
Ham & Eggs.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Chile Fried French Beans
 Categories: Chilies, Beans
      Yield: 1 Servings
 
    450 g  French beans; topped, tailed
           - cut in half
  1 1/2 tb Oil
      2 cl Garlic; crushed
      6    Red chilies; fine chopped
      1 tb Soy sauce
    1/2 ts Sugar
    1/2 ts Sesame oil
 
  Blanch the beans, then drain and refresh under cold
  running water.
  
  Set a wok over high heat for 30 seconds, pour in the oil
  and wait until it is hot. Turn down the heat to moderate,
  then put in the garlic and red chilies and stir-fry until
  fragrant.
  
  Put in the French beans and stir well. add the soy sauce,
  sugar and Stir-fry for about 3 minutes, until the beans
  are well seasoned. Sprinkle with sesame oil and serve.
