I've done Rochester to Raleigh in one sitting... although I think I did
have to make a stop for gas midway... AAA had said it would be 12 hours,
it was more like 10, IIRC...  I regularly do one-tank trips straight
thru with no stops...  :)

True, that...  one reason I don't mind traveling alone..  ;)

We'll probably have invites to my sister's and to a friend's... somewhat
standing... but not something we've done often.... too much mass
confusion, especially at the friend's house...  We used to go out to
Syracuse, as it was an important family do for Richard's family, but now
that the two generations above us are gone, that's gone by the wayside..
His brother's wife thought that we should pick up the ball, but they
aren't willing to come here to do anything, so I don't quite see how
they thought we were going to do it...  So we tend to either do
something quiet at home or go out for Chinese, or now that Fu has his
place open, for Japanese...  :)

That's a nice present for them... :)  My family gets together for
Christmas somewhere between the day itself and New Years or so... the
day itself gets reserved for their individual families now... and our
son is never home then, so we just, again, use that as a time to do
something a little special for ourselves, going out...  :)  And since Fu
is only into his second year of operation, we figure we might as well
encourage him...  ;)

Meanwhile there have been some glitches at my main place for two other
echoes... which I think are finally straightening out...  Hopefully
things will stay muddled together for at least some good time into the
future... not ready to let go of this hobby any time soon yet... ;)

Unless they'd learned them at the parents' knees, so to speak...  :) 
But even still, eventually they find something else to obsess on... I
just wish it was sooner than later...  :)  But, yeah... it's not likely
to happen just because we wish it would...  ;(

That actually shows some promise... especially if one did it with
chicken thighs...  maybe less soy, more garlic, more hot sauce... maybe
with some fresh ginger...   :)
