=============
Hi Nancy,

NB> NB>> probably pays to wait and let it grow larger... We ended up
NB> starting NB>> it before Richard was full age, mostly because we were
 NB> not quite
NB> NB>> making it on what was coming in already...

RH> We're making ends meet but not getting rich. The house payment is
RH> actually just about what our rent was in the other place but we
RH> rounded it up to pay more on the principle every month. But, we've no
RH> car payment so the extra isn't missed.

NB> Then it might make sense to let things grow a little longer on the
NB> SS... If he's only 62, it makes really good sense to wait until he
 NB> gets the
NB> full amount at 66... pushing it further might or might not... :)

We're doing a bit of financial rejuggling to accomodate car payments
now. Traded our 09 Escape on a 16 model so we can tow a small (Casita)
mobile unit. The 09 Escape doesn't have enough "oomph" to tow anything
over 2000 lbs; we needed something a bit stronger.

NB> NB>> I asked, partly because I'd noticed that the Splenda for baking
NB> used NB>> sugar to make it work "better"...

RH> I took a better look--it has maltodextrine in it. Still, something
RH> like 18 grams of carbs per cup as compared to 96 or there abouts for
RH> sugar makes it easier on my system.

NB> Sounds like they aren't adding a lot of the maltodextrine, either,
 NB> then... :)

No, just enough that it had to be added on the package labelling.

NB> NB>> And she might find, after all, that she doesn't want to get too
NB> much NB>> gluten for herself, too... ;) And won't you need to still
 NB> have
 NB> NB>> gluten-free for the baby...?

RH> She's going easy on the gluten for herself, and making sure baby has
RH> enough non gluten things to make her happy. Right now it's finger
RH> foods that she can handle (g/f crackers, etc from home) plus mom or
 RH> dad feeding baby foods.

NB> It won't be long before she'll be eating regular people foods... ;)
NB> And you'll be back to making at least some things gluten-free to
 NB> accommodate her... ;)

Wr'll see how that plays out in the future.

NB> that RH>> could be enjoyed by those with problems.
 NB> NB>> It just wasn't thought about...

 RH> Maybe next year.................

NB> Probably be back at our church next year... but maybe by next time at
NB> that church things might be different... :)

Time will tell--you have almost another year yet.

NB> RH>> Yes, but kids, being kids, want cookies too.
 NB> NB>> True. :)

RH> I can see a bit of how they feel now, as I try to restrict some of
 RH> what I eat.

NB> Easier to commiserate, eh...? ;)

Very much so.

 NB> others... :) And, as I NB>> mentioned, we weren't expecting
 NB> refreshments exactly... :)

RH> I know, but g/f seems to be quite the issue now. Maybe next year
RH> somebody will be alert to the fact that it needs to be addressed at
RH> joint church services. Would your congregation host it next year
 RH> perhaps?

NB> As I said above, quite likely... there's four churches that get
NB> together, one of them doesn't have their own building, another does
NB> but is currently without a pastor, and then us and the one that did
 NB> host
NB> this year... Meanwhile, at our church's annual Thanksgiving (regular
NB> November second sunday) dinner, there were lots of non-gluten
NB> alternatives, including a non-gluten apple pie that my sister made...
NB> Tony was ecstatic over it... told her she'd hit a home run with that
 NB> one... ;)

Hit a home run for him, struck out for you.

NB> RH>> Word did get around the years we had lots of it, but it still
NB> had RH>> more than could be picked, even using a long picker pole &
NB> basket. NB>> Guess you needed more friends to pick... and people with
 NB> ladders and NB>> cherry-pickers... ;)

RH> It still would have had an overabundance of avocadoes.

NB> Then you should have sold them off to the grocery stores... (G) I
NB> guess they don't keep well long-term, unless processed into something
 NB> like guacamole, though....

Technically they belonged to the Army as the tree was on an Army post.
Even guacamole doesn't keep very long unless it's frozen or has
preservatives added.

Catch you later,
